Construction Managers with Level 6 NVQ's can progress to apply for MCIOB status through the full CIOB Professional Review. Those with the Level 7 NVQ in Construction Senior Management are eligible to apply for MCIOB via the fast track CIOB Shortened Professional Review. Either way, Clifton Assessments & Training are a Professional Review Support Provider, accredited by CIOB to receive MCIOB applications; provide professional support, advice, and assessments. Applicants with existing suitable academic qualifications or relevant NVQ's achieved with other training providers can also apply for MCIOB through us, subject to meeting certain eligibility criteria. There are no pre-set timescales to gain your qualifications. We can help you through each step at your own pace. Some NVQ's can be achieved within a few days, others can be achieved in stages over a few weeks or months. Realistically, timing greatly depends on where you are now with your career and assessment of best method of assessment that will suit you. Clifton Assessments do not make false or unrealistic claims with respect to timescales....it is greatly up to you and how you are prepared to commit to an assessment plan. Thats good! You are in the right place if you don't like exams. NVQ's are NOT exams. NVQ's are qualifications achieved through assessment of your competence against National Occupational Standards (NOS). Competence is the combination of your skills, knowledge, ability, training and experience. Assessments can be measured by observation (either live or by video), products of your work, witness testimony, professional discussion, working documents, personal reflective accounts, oral or written questions and answers guided around your working knowledge, and more.
No NVQ's are life long qualifications without an expiry date. However, to remain competent in any occupation we recommend you keep your knowledge and skills up to date through continuing professional development activities.

You think!! NVQ's are a brilliant method of proving your competence. Academic qualifications are only one element of competence alongside skill, knowledge, ability, other training and experience. Laws and Regulations such as the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Construction Design & Management Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) place an obligation on Employers (which includes Clients) to ensure all employees are competent (which includes Contractors, Sub-Contractors and the Self Employed).
